Recap
Laurie Lane, who’s been a massage therapist for over 20 years and works for alongside the chiropractic field, said she’s seen a form of reverse sexism take place over the years. When she first started out she saw lots of men and lots women working in the field.
Now though, she said she sees the field being dominated by women largely because people don’t feel as comfortable going to a man for therapy.
Alyssa Vanderziel, currently a master’s student, has been in the male dominated scientific field since undergrad. She said her first experience with sexism in the field took place during a summer in her undergraduate program when a male professor treated the women researchers differently than he treated the men.
